Fox host accuses Rep. Rashida Tlaib of having the agenda of a terrorist group

Continuing the attacks launched recently by President Donald Trump on Democratic women of color who serve in Congress, Fox host Pete Hegseth said Monday evening on the network that Rep. Rashda Tlaib (D-MI) — who is one of two Muslim women in the House — has the same political agenda as the terrorist group Hamas.

During a segment on Sean Hannity’s show, Hegseth was asked about the political views of progressives in the Democratic party, whom he accused of being “radical” and extreme.” That led Hegseth to respond:

“No, it exposed the real agenda of today’s modern left. I mean, if you look at how Rashida Tlaib talked about President Trump having a hate agenda, I could, therefore, look at her and say that she has a Hamas agenda.”

The mention of Tlaib saying Trump has a hate agenda was a reference to an op-ed she wrote in The Washington Post in which she stated:

“While my colleagues and I work on ways to improve the lives of our constituents, he is focused on a hate agenda for our country.”

Hegseth then went on to add that Tlaib had criticized news coverage on rockets fired by militants in Gaza:

“She said that it didn’t reflect well enough on the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. And we know it’s controlled by Hamas. So if she wants to throw around labels, we can too.”

But as Mediate notes, the criticism from Rep. Tlaib was indeed accurate:

In fact, Tlaib’s critique of a Times story centered on the lack of context in its headline, which failed to note the dozens of unarmed Palestinians protestors who had been shot by Israeli forces just prior to the latest rocket barrage being launched into Israel from the Gaza Strip.

Of course, Fox News has never ever let actual facts get in the way of their slanted coverage of every news event that might somehow fail to reflect their extreme right-wing agenda of blindly supporting Trump and anything he does or says, no matter how disgusting or illegal it might be.

We can disagree on the issues which confront this country, but to stoop to the level of calling another person a terrorist or of having a terrorist agenda serves no purpose other than attempting to smear that person. But in the Fox echo chamber, anything is fair game as long as it helps to bolster your twisted world view.
