Conservative writer Matt Lewis has strongly criticized President Donald Trump and definitely won’t vote for him in 2020, but he won’t commit to voting for the Democrat either, which is why Bill Maher had a word with him on Friday night.
During “Real Time” on HBO, a viewer submitted a question for Maher to ask Lewis, who is no fan of Trump’s.
However, like most conservatives, the HBO host ended up being disappointed after asking a good follow-up question.
“Will you vote for Trump in 2020?” Maher asked Lewis, who simply replied, “No.”
“Well, will you vote for a Democrat?” Maher inquired, drawing hesitancy from Lewis.
“Because if you’re not going to vote for a Democrat, you’re just jerking off,” the host observed as the audience cheered.
“If you’re going to write in John McCain — he’s dead, and he’s not going to be president” he continued. “You only get two choices in this country and if you think Trump is all that bad, you vote for the Democrat.”
Indeed, not voting is the worst thing anti-Trump conservatives could do in this race short of actually voting for him. If America is going to have a shot at ousting Trump in 2020 by a decisive margin, every last vote is necessary and third party votes simply won’t cut it.
Lewis said he would vote for Andrew Yang, but Yang has no shot at winning the nomination. In the current Democratic field, former Vice-President Joe Biden is currently on top along with Senator Bernie Sanders (D-Vt.). South Bend Mayor Pete Buttgieg and Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) are not far behind them.
“So it would depend on the Democrat?” Maher asked. “Would you vote for Biden?”
Lewis said no, which perturbed the host.
“Donald Trump over Joe Biden and you’re going to take a pass?” he asked.
Lewis then used his “pro-life” beliefs as an excuse, but still considers Trump “a bad person and the lack of character and integrity.”
“But there is always one choice that is better, mature people understand that, there is one choice that is better,” the “Real Time” host explained.

The bottom line is that if you’re anti-Trump, suck it up and vote for the Democrat on the ballot because that’s the only way to put an end to his presidency. Because if conservatives are not going to help save this country from his incompetency and tyranny, they won’t have any credibility left because they will have refused to put their country first when it needed them the most.
