Chris Cuomo declares ‘I give up!’ after Conway says Trump’s threat of violence is actually a call for peace

CNN host Chris Cuomo has had enough of White House counselor Kellyanne Conway’s endless spinning and trying to justify President Donald Trump’s disgusting remarks, and he let her know it Thursday evening on his show.

Cuomo asked Conway about comments Trump had made during an interview with Breitbart, in which he said:

“I have the support of the police, the support of the military, the support of Bikers for Trump. I have the tough people, but they don’t play it tough until they go to a certain point, and then it would be very bad, very bad.”

Would Conway condemn that statement from her boss? Nope. Instead, she had this to say:

“You’re just reading into it like you usually do. He was talking about how peaceful and gentle many people are who are otherwise tough.”

Conway then insisted that Cuomo read the quote again. He began to, but was quickly interrupted by the queen of alternative facts:

“Christopher, he didn’t threaten and he’s not threatening violence.”

A visibly disgusted and annoyed Cuomo finally told the White House adviser:

“I give up.

“I made a mistake, so I surrender. You will never ― you will never call him out for whatever he says or whatever he does. You are choosing pragmatism over principle, and I should know this.”

The CNN host then played an interview he did Wednesday with Republican National Committee chair Ronna McDaniel, who asserted that a president’s morals are irrelevant:

“You could be the nicest, most moral person in the world. I don’t want you to be the president because I want to make sure you’re aligned with my politics.”

After the clip played, Cuomo noted that “character counts” mantra of the GOP was dead and gone, which led Conway to say:

“I’m sorry is there a question lurking in there or are you pontificating? Because you invited me on here to answer questions.”

Cuomo:

“Well, that would be a blessing.”

Here’s a suggestion to Chris Cuomo and CNN: Stop inviting this paid liar who works for the Pathological Liar-in-Chief on your airwaves and have real debates instead. Allowing Kellyanne Conway to pump out her verbal BS is a disservice to all of us.
