DNC Chair Tom Perez slams Fox host for being official White House propaganda network

Democratic National Committee chairman Tom Perez made it clear Monday that he doesn’t trust Fox News for a second and considers the network to be little more than a propaganda outlet for the Trump administration.

During an interview with Fox host Bill Hemmer Monday morning, Perez was asked if he might reconsider the DNC’s ban on letting Fox host any of the 2020 Democratic debates. Perez replied:

“Here is why we won’t do that. Because I don’t have faith in your leadership at Fox News at the senior levels. I have great respect for Bret [Baier] and Chris [Wallace] and you. But … above your pay grade they don’t trust your own listeners and feel like they have to put the thumb on the scale.”

Hemmer asked:

“Tom, who are you referring to?”

Perez immediately responded:

“The senior leadership of Fox News, who has — they have pierced that line between editorial and your Sean Hannity shows. If they want to do that, that’s fine. When you are on the news division.”

Hemmer again tried to plead his case:

“You know there is a line between what we do at 9:00 and what happens in the prime time. It’s like reading a newspaper, Tom. And it has been the same way for a long time. I really hope you come back. I really hope you reconsider.”

But the DNC chair refused to relent, remarking:

“Bill, I hope you have a good conversation with the people at the top to say, ‘don’t do that.'”

Why should Democrats have to dance to the songs being played by Fox News? Their bias is all over their so-called “news programs,” and then in the evening they resort to conspiracy theories and outright lies that are then parroted by Trump on Twitter. Unless and until Fox tamps down their bias and agrees to be a real news network, the DNC needs to hold the line.
