Fox & Friends host: Trump should ‘run a private investigation’ on Adam Schiff

Kilmeade

“Fox & Friends” co-host Brian Kilmeade said Thursday morning that President Donald Trump should investigate members of Congress who have the audacity to perform their oversight duties.

Speaking with Fox legal analyst Andrew Napolitano, Kilmeade commented:

“Why not investigate Adam Schiff? Why not investigate Maxine Waters? How did they become rich?”

Napolitano responded:

“Because the Democrats control the Congress and they’re not going to investigate their own.”

That led Kilmeade to suggest the president run a private investigation into anyone that dares to look into Trump’s possibly criminal actions:

“Doesn’t the president have an attorney? Why doesn’t the president run a private investigation onto Adam Schiff?”

Once again, Napolitano had to be the voice of reason:

“Because the president, if he’s going to use the power of the government to do anything, has to do it through the [Department of Justice].”

On Wednesday, Schiff, who chairs the House Intelligence Committee, announced that he would open an investigation into whether or not any of Trump’s decisions as president have been influenced by personal gain:

“The president’s actions and posture towards Russia during the campaign, transition, and administration have only heightened fears of foreign financial or other leverage over President Trump and underscore the need to determine whether he or those in his administration have acted in service of foreign interests since taking office.”

In response, a clearly angered Trump told reporters:

“He’s just a political hack who’s trying to build a name for himself. It’s just presidential harassment and it’s unfortunate and it really does hurt our country.”

And the president also fired off tweets about Congressional oversight Thursday morning:
