Fox Host Laura Ingraham Thinks #MeToo Is Ruining Christmas

Given the fact that Fox News has had to deal with sexual assault and sexual harassment scandals, one would think they would not suggest that such behavior is what Christmas is all about.

But Laura Ingraham went there during a short segment in which she wondered if the #MeToo campaign is ruining Christmas parties at the office.

Vox recently established a two-drink minimum for everyone who attends their office Christmas party this year to prevent employees getting drunk and having impaired judgment.

It’s a smart idea. After all, people don’t need to get drunk to enjoy a good party.

But Ingraham and “comedian” Jimmy Failla think Christmas parties are only fun if women and men drink enough to “humiliate themselves.” Ingraham asked:

“Is the #MeToo movement becoming a spoiler for this season’s Christmas parties? I can see this year it might be — a little less festive, let’s say that. No alcohol and no fun and no lampshades and, I don’t know, maybe that’s better. Is this just killing all the fun of Christmas?”

Failla chimed in by saying that he loves to watch co-workers get “trashed” so he can watch them make bad decisions.

“It builds camaraderie,” he added.

In a climate where we take sexual assault and harassment allegations more seriously, and rightfully so, less alcohol at Christmas parties is a good thing. One can only imagine the kinds of Christmas parties thrown at Fox in the past where sexual predators like Bill O’Reilly and Roger Ailes would be standing around waiting to prey upon a female colleague who had a little too much to drink.

Laura Ingraham herself said she doesn’t go to Christmas parties, so she has no idea what goes on.

Fox News administrators need to pull her aside and remind her that sexual assault should be taken seriously. It’s not something that enhances the Christmas season. It ruins lives. Clearly, Fox News hasn’t learned anything from their sexual assault and harassment scandals at all.
