Ever since President Donald Trump demanded a military parade under the guise of showing the military might of our fighting men and women, he’s been ripped to pieces by public officials and members of the military. Here’s what one retired army general had to say:
“A lot of countries have histories of longtime military conquest and the power and strength of the military supporting the government, but since our inception that has not been who we are.”
Indeed, this is not who we are, but it’s what Trump sadly is. The strongest criticism, however, came from one of the most important voices yet to weigh in on the military parade: the Navy SEAL who helped kill Bin Laden.
Robert O’Neill, the U.S. Navy SEAL who delivered the final bullets that killed 9/11 mastermind Osama bin Laden, took to Twitter to assail the so-called “stable genius” for his desire to hold a most insane military parade in our nation’s capital.
A military parade is third world bullshit. We prepare. We deter. We fight. Stop this conversation.

Trump’s cult supporters will surely write off the guy with the nerves of steel to kill the world’s most wanted terrorist as some snowflake liberal wanting his safe space, but he’s actually a conservative and Fox News contributor.
The Pentagon said it’s “aware of the request, ” and currently “determining the specific details” of carrying out such an endeavor. But there’s simply no way Secretary of Defense James Matthis, the only seemingly reasonable voice in what seems to be an asylum of an administration, will come close to sanctioning this complete and utter narcissism. Member of both parties seems to agree.
Washington, D.C. council member Mary M. Cheh (D-Ward 3) said:
“I don’t want to be Russia or North Korea, I don’t want to be a totalitarian state, and this is straight from their playbook.”
It should perpetually be noted that Donald Trump sought five draft deferments when he had a chance to show off military strength. Let’s all make sure this dictatorial parade never happens.
