Rep. Jim Jordan spins Clinton conspiracy theories in desperate attempt to trash Michael Cohen

Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) tried to suggest all of the trouble President Donald Trump is facing as a result of testimony from Trump’s former attorney, Michael Cohen, by claiming that the Clinton campaign is behind the legal problems facing the president.

During his opening statement, Jordan remarked:

“This is the Michael Cohen hearing presented by Lanny Davis. That’s right. Lanny Davis choreographed the whole darn thing. The Clinton’s best friend, loyalist, operative, Lanny Davis put this all together.”

Jordan also suggested that Cohen was being used as a “patsy” by Congressional Democrats, going off on a tangent about billionaire Tom Steyer, who has funded the “Need to Impeach” campaign:

“They got to find somebody, somewhere to say something so they can try to remove the president from office because Tom Steyer told them to. Tom Steyer, last week organized a town hall. Guess where? Chairman Nadler’s district in Manhattan. Two nights ago Tom Steyer organized a town hall. Guess where? Chairman Cummings district in Baltimore.”

Before he completely flamed out, Jordan also mentioned the Steele dossier:

“Remember, remember how all this started. The Clinton campaign hired Perkins Coie law firm, who hired Glen Simpson, who hired a foreigner, Christopher Steele, who put together the fake dossier that the FBI used to go get a warrant to spy on the Trump campaign. But when that whole scheme failed and the American people said ‘we’re going to make Donald Trump president,’ they said ‘we got to do something else.’

“So now client loyalist, Clinton operative, Lanny Davis has persuaded the chairman of the Oversight Committee to give a convicted felon a forum to tell stories and lie about the president of the United States, so they can all start their impeachment process.”

Jordan, who has long been a rabid Trump supporter, apparently thinks he’ll pander to the president and perhaps even get a mention on Twitter from the American head of state. But his deranged rantings this morning prove he and his GOP partners in Congress are terrified of what Cohen will reveal.
