Rep. Steve King (R-IA) is one of the most odious and objectionable members of the GOP, and such a right-wing extremist that his own party stripped him of his committee assignments after he announced he supported the idea of white nationalism.
And now King is again in hot water for a meme posted on his verified Facebook account in which he seems to be advocating for a “second civil war” in the United States and suggesting that red state America would win because they have more bullets:
Keep in mind this posting from King comes just days after the mosque shootings in Christchurch, New Zealand, that left 50 worshipers dead and dozens more wounded. Those shootings were allegedly perpetrated by a man who identifies with the white nationalist movement that’s been endorsed by Congressman King.
Reaction on Twitter was immediate:
Can we have a serious conversation about this? @SteveKingIA posted this image to his facebook yesterday (presumably to own libs), however it is far beyond hyperbole and antithetical to his duties as a Congressman. pic.twitter.com/fp8NgdcBpF

1. His own state is in the one getting punched.
2. Buncha the “defenseless blue states with no guns” include cities/neighborhoods Steve King wouldn’t visit without armor and backup.
3. Cute cartoon – now do one by actual population and life expectancy – “Red Guy” has a glass jaw. pic.twitter.com/76zQHUAt0f— Bob Chipman (@the_moviebob) March 18, 2019
Bragging about needing 8 trillion bullets to take out 150 million people doesn’t sound as cool as Steve King thinks it does.

Just the open Nazi @GOP member @SteveKingIA, tweeting about slaughtering his fellow Americans in a civil war. #SundayThoughts https://t.co/KVaYDnYdcB

I wonder where Steve would be if this took place?… Probably IN the bathroom, hiding!

King is so far beyond reprehensible.
Aside from fomenting violence and inspiring terrorism, his graphic is just plain idiotic and inaccurate. It’s juvenile snark. Junior high cafeteria bully M.O., which is so typical of so-called conservative, family values sorts. Moronic.— E.R.A. Triano (@lizziewriter) March 18, 2019
The party of Trump continues to make it painfully clear that everything they believe and do is bad for this country. Time to vote them out en masse and turn them into a permanent minority party.
