Rick Santorum slams Lewandowski for admitting he lies to the media and the American people

Rick Santorum

Corey Lewandowski is one of President Donald Trump’s top cronies, and he freely admitted that he lies to the media and the American people, and that was even too much for Rick Santorum to tolerate.

While testifying before the House Judiciary Committee on Tuesday, Lewandowski made a stunning claim that should concern the people of New Hampshire as the Trump supporter prepares to run for Senate there.

During questioning, Lewandowski actually admitted that he lies to the media, which means he lies to the American people.

“I have no obligation to be honest to the media,” Lewandowski said. “They’re just as dishonest as anybody else.”

Well, the American people have a problem with Lewandowski lying, and so does Rick Santorum, who has spent a lot of time defending Trump on CNN.

“Senator, isn’t it kind of a weird way to run for Senate by admitting that you’re happy to lie to the American people?” CNN host Anderson Cooper asked Santorum. “I know he was phrasing it as lying to the media, lying to reporters, but, you know, it’s not as if — the end result is you’re lying to the American people. You are giving people false information. And you’re fine with that? You have no moral problem with that?”

Santorum was not amused with Lewandowski’s statement.

“Yeah, I think that was a little flippant on his part,” Santorum said. “I certainly wouldn’t have made that comment. I don’t think — particularly if you’re running for office, it’s not a good thing for him to say.”

Indeed, New Hampshire voters are not going to be inclined to vote for someone who will lie to their faces every time he speaks to the media.

Of course, Santorum didn’t wait long before trying to help Lewandowski spin out of the sh*t storm he created for himself, but still agreed that Trump’s crony screwed up.

“I think he was taking the Trump approach, which is, it’s different to — you notice he pointed out the reporters’ name, he didn’t talk about lying to the public, he basically said, you know, I didn’t tell the truth to this guy who doesn’t have a right to hear the truth from me, basically,” he said. “And I don’t think that’s a good line for him, and I would hope that he would, you know, go out and say, ‘I’m going to tell the truth to the people of New Hampshire all the time.’”

Here’s the video via Twitter.

Anyone who served as a Trump crony cannot be trusted to tell the truth, especially Lewandowski. This is where his Senate hopes should end, because any candidate who thinks they aren’t obligated to tell the truth to the press is disrespecting the American public by lying to them.
