Joe Scarborough Trashes Sean Hannity And His Desperate Attack On Robert Mueller

Hannity

Over the past few days, Fox News host and Trump propagandist Sean Hannity launched desperate attacks on Special Counsel Robert Mueller, and the Morning Joe host Joe Scarborough lambasted him for it on Thursday.

On his Wednesday night program, Hannity referred to Mueller as one of the:

“…Obvious Deep State crime families trying to take down the president.”

It’s an extension of an attack he made earlier this week against the decorated Vietnam War veteran and the distinguished public servant who spent years as director of the FBI under former President George W. Bush and former President Barack Obama.

After the FBI raided President Donald Trump’s lawyer Michael Cohen’s home and workplace, Hannity lashed out at Mueller, claiming he:

“…Declared war against the President of the United States.”

He continued, saying:

“It is clear, as I have been warning, Mueller is out to get the president and it appears at any cost.”

The inflammatory rhetoric was too much for Scarborough to leave unaddressed on Thursday. So, he absolutely destroyed Hannity for slandering Mueller. Scarborough said:

“It’s beneath contempt. Sean Hannity is a desperate, desperate man, desperately defending a desperate, desperate president. Sean Hannity has a show that Shep Smith and the rest of the news people at Fox News consider to be a joke. They call it fake news, they call it entertainment and that’s fine if people want to be entertained that way at night.”

Indeed, Smith shared his thoughts about Fox programming such as Hannity’s show earlier this year in an interview with TIME. The newsman said:

“We serve different masters. We work for different reporting chains, we have different rules. They don’t really have rules on the opinion side. They can say whatever they want. If it’s their opinion. I don’t really watch a lot of opinion programming. I’m busy.”

Scarborough couldn’t agree more.

“People watch the Kardashians, too. But when you have people at Fox News saying, ‘that’s not really news, that’s entertainment,’ and it is. It’s trash, though, the fact that he is entertained and the fact that other people are entertained, by trashing a hero in Vietnam, by trashing a man that guided America through 9/11, a man that’s dedicated his entire life to protecting Americans at home and abroad, is beneath contempt. and it shows how desperate they all are.”

Scarborough went on to point out that 7 out of 10 Americans support seeing the Mueller investigation through to the end.

Sean Hannity should not be allowed to peddle his conspiracy theories and lies on the air. That kind of rhetoric is dangerous, and while it may make Trump happy, it does nothing but divide our nation even further.
