Trump loses it after Pelosi cancels SOTU by insulting her and Chuck Schumer in temper tantrum

President Donald Trump reacted to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) canceling the State of the Union address in typical fashion. And by that, we mean he threw a temper tantrum like a petulant child.

On Wednesday, Trump finally sent a letter to Pelosi responding to her request to delay the SOTU until after the government shutdown ends. One, because Secret Service agents should not be asked to work such a security-laden event without pay. And two, because Trump would just use the address to blame the shutdown on the Democrats and lie to the American people about the wall as he did during his Oval Office address to the nation earlier this month.

Trump claimed that there are no security concerns and said he plans to show up despite her objections.

But, not so fast. After all, Pelosi is the House Speaker and Democrats have the majority, which means they can fire back by simply refusing to take up a joint resolution to invite Trump to deliver it. And that’s exactly what they did and Pelosi sent Trump a reply telling him not to bother showing up.

As we all know, Trump has thin skin and a massive fragile ego, so it came as no surprise when he responded by lashing out at Pelosi.

“The State of the Union has been canceled by Nancy Pelosi because she doesn’t want to hear the truth,” Trump told reporters at the White House. “She’s afraid of the super-left Democrats, the radical Democrats. What’s going on in that party is shocking. Now Nancy Pelosi, or Nancy as I call her, she doesn’t want to know the truth.”

First of all, Trump should be referring to Pelosi as Madam Speaker or Speaker Pelosi. Calling her Nancy is just disrespectful and it’s unlikely Pelosi is on friendly enough terms with Trump to refer to each other on a first name basis. Besides, it’s unprofessional considering she’s third in line for the presidency.

But, Trump continued whining.

“So Nancy Pelosi, knowing these facts and knowing that she can’t win, that she just went out and said ‘let’s cancel for the first time in the history of our country, let’s cancel the State of the Union addres.’ It’s a disgrace. She used it on the basis of the shutdown. When she asked me to make the address formally in writing, most of you have a copy of the letter, when she asked me to make the address, she did it during the shutdown, well into the shutdown.”

In writing does not require the massive amount of security that is needed for an in-person speech on Capitol Hill, security that the government can’t afford to spend on right now because of Trump’s costly shutdown that has dragged on for 33 days because he isn’t getting his way.

Then he proceeded to double down on the insulted by emasculating Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.).

“I think that Chuck Schumer sadly is dominated by the radical left and he’s dominated by Nancy Pelosi,” Trump said. “Very strongly dominated. He can’t move. He’s a puppet. A puppet for Nancy Pelosi, if you can believe that.”

This is such a disgraceful and unpresidential response that Democrats should go ahead and move to impeach Trump now instead of waiting for Special Counsel Robert Mueller to issue his report. Trump has already sullied the office of the presidency and embarrassed the United States enough over the last two years to justify it. This temper tantrum just puts the reasons to do so over the top. Senate Republicans should be ashamed of themselves for allowing this circus to go on as long as it has, and the American people should whatever it takes to oust them from office as well. This is not the behavior of a president, it’s the behavior of a toddler dictator.
