President Donald Trump is freaking out after House Judiciary Committee chairman Jerrold Nadler (D-N.Y.) and House Intelligence Committee chairman Adam Schiff sent out dozens of requests for information to his associates as part of their probes into his administration, campaign and businesses.
Democrats promised the American people oversight of Trump’s administration throughout the 2018 campaign, and Americans put Democrats in control of the House for exactly that reason. And they are following through on their promises by sending over 80 letters to many of Trump’s closest associates including Donald Trump Jr., Hope Hicks, Jared Kushner, David Pecker, Steve Bannon, Sean Spicer, and several others.
In those letters Nadler wrote that his committee is probing “a number of actions that threaten our nation’s longstanding commitment to the rule of law, including allegations of obstruction of justice, public corruption, and other abuses of power.”
“President Trump and his administration face wide-ranging allegations of misconduct that strike at the heart of our constitutional order,” he continued. ”Congress has a constitutional duty to serve as a check and balance against any such excesses…Over the course of our investigation, the Committee is determined to ask critical questions, gather all the relevant information, judiciously assess the evidence, and present our findings to the American people.”
Schiff, meanwhile, is focusing his committee’s probe on following the money to prove Trump has committed money laundering, which could be connected to his relationship with Russians who may be using that crime to control him.
He has sent letters requesting documents and interviews.
On Tuesday, Trump lashed out on Twitter at the Democratic committee chairs and bizarrely claimed that they “realize” Hillary Clinton colluded with Russia and whined that they are harassing him:

Democrats have already proven that they can investigate Trump and legislate at the same time. After all, they recently passed two gun control bills, passed a bill to make Election Day a national holiday and making voting easier while getting corporate money out of campaigns. Democrats are also working on the Green New Deal legislation to fight climate change among several other bills to help the American people.
Furthermore, Democrats don’t think Clinton colluded with Russia, and neither do most Republicans since they controlled the House and Senate for two years and didn’t open a single investigation to look into Trump’s claim. Why? Because they know there is no evidence that Hillary colluded.
Trump is clearly panicking and you can bet he will panic even more as the investigations close in on him. Because unlike Republicans, Democrats intend to run serious investigations rather than spend their time protecting a guilty president.
