According to Tucker Carlson, the first day of impeachment hearings is proof positive that Russia poses absolutely no threat to the United States and the impeachment of President Donald Trump is a massive conspiracy.
Just hours after Bill Taylor and George Kent of the State Department testified that Trump did indeed try to extort Ukraine in to provide dirt on former Vice President Joe Biden in return for military assistance, Carlson told viewers on his show Wednesday evening:

“Our real fear is that at some point, the rest of America will discover that the Soviet Union no longer exists. We’re afraid they’ll learn that Russia’s economy is the size of Italy, that their military budget is one-tenth of ours, that their only aircraft carrier needs to be towed around it’s broken, that their best scientists and engineers have moved to New Jersey leaving them unable to build a working escalator, that if we’re really being honest here, Russia poses no threat to the United States at all.”
Carlson then tried to slag Taylor and Kent as some part of some massive disinformation campaign being conducted by anyone who dares to disagree with the president:
“Washington doesn’t want you to know that, which is why William Taylor and George Kent and many of their friends spent all day insisting that Russia is a mortal threat to our country.”

Russia is indeed a mortal threat to the United States. They attacked the 2016 election and are already trying to do the same thing in 2020. Vladimir Putin is actively seeking to exert Russian influence across the world, from Syria and Iran to Africa and Latin America. He knows the best way to build up his country is to tear down every Western institution he can get his hands on.
The real conspiracy is the big lie being told repeatedly on Fox News when they willingly excuse Putin’s ambitions and actions while suggest we should willingly surrender to Russia by pretending there’s no threat.
