Unhinged Fox host claims Democrats, MSNBC, and CNN are ‘agents of Putin’

A Fox News host said Monday morning on the network that not only does the Mueller report completely exonerate President Donald Trump (it doesn’t), but it also provides ample evidence that members of the U.S. intelligence community, Democrats, and the American news media are all “agents” of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

During an appearance on “America’s Newsroom” Monday morning, Steve Hilton, host of “The Next Revolution” on Fox, said during a panel discussion of the four-page Mueller report summary from Attorney General William Barr that was released Sunday afternoon:

“Let’s look at the big story what do we know now we didn’t before? We know for sure the scope of the Russian effort, Putin’s effort, to destabilize our democracy and to divide America. That’s clear from the report.”

Then Hilton began bearing down on the “no collusion” like from Barr’s summary letter:

“We also know that not only was there no collusion, there is a very important line in the attorney general’s letter, the special counsel not only didn’t find collusion it says ‘despite multiple offers from Russian affiliated individuals to assist the Trump campaign.’ They tried to collude with the Trump campaign. The Trump campaign said no.”

What Hilton neglected to mention is that the Barr letter also said Trump had not been exonerated on obstruction of justice charges. Why would someone obstruct justice if they were innocent.

Hilton saved his most bizarre rant for the end of the segment, accusing everyone who had suspected Trump of being in league with the Kremlin:

“I’ll tell you who did end up being an agent of Putin, an agent of Russia in his effort to divide America and to destabilize our democracy, it is all these people who have been pushing this story. They’re the ones who have been dividing America — Brennan, and Clapper, and Adam Schiff, and Eric Swalwell and MSNBC and CNN. They’re the real agents of Putin!”

The simple fact remains that the country deserves to see the entire report, not just a summary from Trump’s handpicked attorney general. And if questioning the actions of a president makes you unpatriotic, then Fox and the GOP have a lot to answer for when you consider the things they said about Barack Obama for eight years.
