How could we possibly reflect on 2017 and the first year of a Trump presidency without looking back at the President’s penchant for Twitter?
Donald J. Trump is reportedly proud of the messages he composes with his tiny thumbs every morning as Fox & Friends blasts propaganda into his ears. The tweets range from childish at best all the way to blatantly dangerous attacks on American democracy and institutions.
Trump plays America like a reality show. The tone of today’s world exists in stark contrast to the relative peace Americans enjoyed under Obama, who shared some thinly veiled thoughts on Trump’s social media usage in an interview with Britain’s Prince Harry on Wednesday.
“The question has to do with how do we harness this technology in a way that allows a multiplicity of voices, allows a diversity of views, but doesn’t lead to a Balkanization of society and allows ways of finding common ground.”
But here’s the moral of the story:
“It’s also, by the way, harder to be as obnoxious and cruel in person as people can be anonymously on the internet.”
Taking Obama’s words to heart, let’s take a look at some of the worst of Trump’s tweets to grace the eyes of the world.
