If you’re an unhinged, thoughtless racist or sexist who worships guns, there’s a good chance you’re in National Harbor, Maryland for the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC). CPAC has always featured some of the most mouth-foaming Christofascists and ammosexuals on the right, but this is the era of President Donald Trump and all of this craziness is now normalized. Neither of them could care less about the Florida shooting survivors.
NRA CEO Wayne LaPierre, the crown prince of cowardice and crazy, appeared at CPAC earlier Thursday to audaciously defend al the justifiable attacks that have been leveled at his murderous organization following last week’s heinous mass shooting at Stoneman High School in Parkland, Florida.
Even though 17 lives were taken after a gun madman stormed Stoneman HIgh an opened fire on anything in sight, LaPierre had to defend the real victim in all of this drama: The NRA and its gun fondling members.
As usual, the opportunists wasted not one second to exploit tragedy for political gain. … 20th-century community organizer Saul Alinsky would have been proud of the breakneck speed for gun control laws and the breathless national media eager to smear the NRA.
What they want are more restrictions on the law-abiding — think about that,’ LaPierre said. ‘Their solution is to make you, all of you, less free. They want to sweep right under the carpet the failure of school security, the failure of the family, the failure of America’s school systems and even the unbelievable failure of the FBI.
Again, what’s with the hate of Saul Alinsky, especially since most Americans don’t know nor care who he really is. However, they do very much care about the safety of their kids, or “opportunists” as the vile LaPierre so sickeningly referred them as.
Well, one of those so-called “opportunists” was Florida shooting survivor Cary Novell. Novell was sickened by LaPierre’s comments and voiced her anger towards him on CNN’s Newsroom:
"I just think that's disrespectful and insensitive to call us 'opportunists' when all we're trying to do is to make sure this doesn't happen to anyone else," says Florida shooting survivor Carly Novell in response to comments from the head of the NRA. https://t.co/PI3lrwk8bG

It takes a special kind of a-hole to go after a teenage survivor of a gun shooting. Luckily, these kids are a hundred times smarter and better than Trump and his sub-moronic ilk.
