Minutes after President Donald Trump concluded his Oval Office address Tuesday evening, George Conway (who just so happens to be the husband of White House counselor Kellyanne Conway) went on Twitter and began retweeting devastating criticisms of the president’s speech. It was, to put it mildly, trolling of the highest order.
Here’s a sampling of what Conway retweeted:
He wants the wall. He doesn’t know how to get it. We give too much credit to his manipulative powers. His reputation for negotiating exceeds demonstrated skill. He frequently makes moves that are irrational and self defeating. https://t.co/vmELNMSuOB

Does anything capture the weakness of Trump’s hand on #BorderWall better than a first term D from a previously R district in suburban Dallas, not LA or CHI, feeling comfortable opposing it this firmly? https://t.co/uOj5xdGrDl

The White House also posted Trump’s speech on his Twitter feed shortly after the speech was delivered, and that too drew plenty of cutting comments from social media:
Well that was disappointingly banal, and filled with the same talking points that remain innaccurate or just plain wrong. Most drugs from the south come through legal points of entry. Democrats believe in and support border security just not the wall.

All the snorting and sniffing from you has me believing that all these so called drugs you’re speaking of have passed your own nose on the way to the dealers.

You are a disgrace. Your wall ia nothing more than a monument to racism and the meanness that has eaten the souls of your narrow minded followers. Your speech was a string of lies and you should be ashamed of yourself for giving it.

Bright and early Wednesday morning, Trump was patting himself on the back for the speech:
Thank you for soooo many nice comments regarding my Oval Office speech. A very interesting experience!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) January 9, 2019
As usual, this president is the last to know just how pathetic he is.
