It’s no exaggeration to call President Donald Trump the most immoral man to ever hold the office of President of the United States. And that’s exactly what 2020 Democratic candidate Pete Buttigieg chose to focus on during an appearance on MSNBC Saturday evening.
Buttigieg was a guest on the premier episode of “Saturday Night Politics with Donny Deutsch,” and he wasted no time calling Trump out for being unfit to lead this or any country, commenting:
“I do agree that there’s a need for us to recognize that a big part of leadership is just calling forth what’s best in us, and right now we’ve got leadership that draws out the worst in us, draws out the absolute worst in supporters and opponents sometimes, and we need something different, we need a different way.”
Whether Trump is attacking immigrants, buddying up to dictators across the globe, or puking out hatred on Twitter, he never acts the way we expect a person who holds the highest office in the land to behave. In fact, he acts quite the opposite, and yet claims he’s a Christian and considers the Bible to be his favorite book, even though he can’t quote from it. Values and morals have long been a GOP issue, but Buttigieg noted that it was time to shed light on what we should expect from our leaders:
“And this is traditionally more of a conservative thing to say, but that moral leadership really matters, character really matters. And I think we need to hold our president to a very high standard and want to put forward a case that each of us competing for that job ought to be looked at in those terms.”
Here’s another way of looking at it: If you have children, would you want them to behave the way Trump does? And for those without children, ask yourself this: Is Donald Trump truly the best this country has to offer? If he is, then we need to reexamine our priorities and make a change.
Donald Trump is not fit to be the head of a maggot farm, let alone the most powerful nation in the world. He must be removed from office in 2020 or the United States is doomed.
