Ted Lieu has the perfect response to Trump’s ‘racist a**’ slur against immigrants in Congress

Rep. Ted Lieu (D-CA) wasted no time responding to President Donald Trump’s blatantly racist comments about non-white Democrats going back to their countries of origin, and he did so on Twitter and national television Sunday.

Earlier in the morning, Trump had posted these tweets:

That prompted this social media smack down from Lieu:

Later in the afternoon, Congressman Lieu also appeared on MSNBC, where he remarked:

“As an immigrant myself, I know that when we came to America, we were poor. My parents went to flee markets to sell gifts to make ends meet, and eventually they opened a successful small business and achieved the American dream. It’s one of the reasons I joined the Air Force and active duty.

“I never thought I’d see the day when a president was telling immigrants to go back to where they came from. He’s demonstrating he’s a racist ass. He’s not uniting us.”

Lieu then added:

“He has not been able to build his wall or make the border situation any better and now he’s trying to do other things to amp up his base. He doesn’t understand most Americans are immigrants or have family members who are immigrants.”

Donald Trump’s family also came to this country from other countries. Maybe we need to send him back to his homeland, too. The United States would be better off without him.
