50,000 sign petition to name Trump’s Fifth Avenue address ‘Obama Avenue’

Trump Obama

Whether he leaves office in 2020 or 2024, President Donald Trump could have a new address when he gets back to his Fifth Avenue penthouse in Trump Tower as tens of thousands of people have signed a petition to change the name to “President Barack H. Obama Avenue”.

It’s no secret that New Yorkers loathe Trump. But now they want to take out their anger by making a move that will infuriate him to his racist core by naming the street he lives on after his predecessor.

A petition exists on MoveOn.org for that very reason, and it has already been signed by more than 50,000 people.

The petition cites Los Angeles recently naming a street to honor Obama and requests the same honor for him in New York.

“We request the stretch of Fifth Avenue between 56th and 57th Streets be renamed “President Barack H. Obama Avenue,” the petition states. “Any addresses on that stretch of Fifth Avenue should be changed accordingly.”

It then goes on to make their case to the city council and Mayor Bill de Blasio by pointing out that Obama ordered the killing of Osama bin Laden, the terrorist responsible for the 9/11 attacks.

We request the New York City Mayor and City Council do the same by renaming a block of Fifth Avenue after the former president whose many accomplishments include: saving our nation from the Great Recession; serving two completely scandal-free terms in office; and taking out Osama bin Laden, the mastermind behind September 11th, which killed over 3,000 New Yorkers.

One commenter even suggested renaming another street near the building after the late-Senator John McCain (R-Ariz.). Both names would enrage Trump. But it’s entirely possible that Trump’s new address after he leaves office could be the prison on Riker’s Island or a federal facility, seeing as how federal and state prosecutors have open cases against him.

Or course, New York does have the power to rename the street. Streets are renamed all the time and it would certainly make a lot of people happy to stick it to Trump. After all, naming a street after the black man he hates so much would be poetic justice. Unfortunately, it appears such an honor can only be given to a dead person. However, in this case, the rules should be broken. Then every letter Trump or his family members send from Trump Tower would have to carry Obama’s name.

And can you imagine how infuriated Trump would be to receive a letter in prison with Obama’s name on it? That’s not just poetic justice, it’s downright hilarious.
