Trump throws a hissy fit because media isn’t reporting GOP senator’s ‘no collusion’ claim as absolute fact

President Donald Trump lashed out at the press on Friday morning because Senate Intelligence Committee chairman Richard Burr’s claim that there’s no evidence of collusion is not getting enough attention.

During an interview published on Thursday, Burr (R-N.C.) said that based on the evidence he has seen so far that there’s nothing that proves Trump colluded with Russia to win the 2016 Election.

Of course, the key words here are “so far” due to the fact that the investigation is not over yet. Even Burr himself says the probe is not complete. It’s also very possible that Special Counsel Robert Mueller has evidence that the Senate Intelligence Committee has not seen.

Trump immediately took to Twitter to falsely declare vindication on Thursday night and thanked Burr, but became angry on Friday morning during his “executive time” after he flipped through the television channels expecting the media to take Burr’s word for it.

The reason why the media should not give a lot of credence to Burr’s claim is that Burr is a Trump stooge who served as an adviser on his 2016 campaign. Burr has also resisted investigating collusion and has repeatedly not taken the investigation seriously. This appears to be nothing more than a repeat of Rep. Devin Nunes’ (R-Calif.) effort to protect Trump when he prematurely cleared him and improperly closed the House Intelligence Committee probe early last year.

At this point, it would be unwise for the media to report that the investigation has cleared Trump because it’s not over yet. And considering Burr has barred fellow committee members from talking about the investigation, it’s very likely that Democratic members, especially those who actually come from a legal background, would contradict him.

We don’t actually know what evidence the committee has looked at or what many witnesses have said. Burr is clearly a biased voice in this matter and Trump is throwing a tantrum because nobody is buying it.
