There are a lot of unanswered questions regarding President Donald Trump’s health after the results of a routine annual check-up have thus far remained hidden from the public, and former Vice-President Dick Cheney’s cardiologist wants to know what Trump is hiding.
“The president is in excellent health and will likely remain so for for the duration of his presidency, and beyond,” said White House chief medical officer Dr. Ronny Jackson last week after Trump visited Walter Reed Army Medical Center for an annual physical just over a year after declaring that Trump only weighed 239 pounds while touting his supposedly “good genes.”
This year, it appears Trump intends to keep his medical results as tightly hidden away as his tax returns, likely because they are not nearly as good as Jackson claims.
And even Cheney’s cardiologist Dr. Jonathan Reiner wants to know why:
It’s been 4 days since the president underwent his annual physical exam and still no data has been released. What are they hiding? @jaketapper @peterbakernyt

Trump, nor the White House, have answered. But Twitter users enthusiastically offered their own answers for Reiner to choose from:
What they’re hiding:
1-he meets the standard for “morbidly obese”
2-he can’t take stress test bc he can’t walk for 1 min on a treadmill
3-he can’t draw a clock face that says 2:15
4-he scores in lowest category on memory test
5-he meets all the criteria for malignant NPD— Cherie Winner (@chwinner5) February 12, 2019

Covering for him if he has serious medical issues isn’t illegal but it is another area where senior reps have abdicated responsibility for the nation.

They’re trying to use Epic to cut and paste someone else’s ECG into 45’s chart. They couldn’t use his own because he doesn’t have a heart.

The president’s medical results, just like tax returns, should be a matter of public record. Americans have the right to know how healthy or unhealthy the president is. Such information is crucial to voting decisions on Election Day. Trump already has an uphill battle in 2020 what with the diversity and popularity of the Democratic challengers this time around. Poor health results would likely make his re-election bid much harder since people often do not want a president in office who may not be able to finish their term. That makes vice-presidential candidates all the more important, and Mike Pence may be even more unpopular than Trump.
The best move Trump can make is release his results and be honest with the American public for once. But he would rather keep lying and pretend everything is fine.
