In the wake of a New York Times investigation concluding that Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh lied under oath during his confirmation hearings, Senator Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) and former Housing and Urban Development Secretary Julian Castro are calling for impeachment.

Two New York Times reporters spent ten months investigating sexual misconduct allegations against Kavanaugh, looking into his claims under oath that he did not pull his pants down and thrust his penis at Deborah Ramirez during a college dormitory party.

“During the winter of her freshman year, a drunken dormitory party unsettled her deeply,” the pair of journalists wrote. “[Deborah Ramirez] and some classmates had been drinking heavily when, she says, a freshman named Brett Kavanaugh pulled down his pants and thrust his penis at her, prompting her to swat it away and inadvertently touch it. During his Senate testimony, Mr. Kavanaugh said that if the incident Ms. Ramirez described had occurred, it would have been ‘the talk of campus.’ Our reporting suggests that it was.”

As it turns out, his behavior was the talk of the campus as many students had known or heard about it.

In short, Kavanaugh lied to the Senate, which is perjury. Perjury is an impeachable offense, and that’s why Castro is calling for an investigation and Harris is outright calling for impeachment.

In addition, an eyewitness claims that he saw Kavanaugh pull his penis out of his pants and forced it into a woman’s hand at a similar party.

The FBI knew of the eyewitness account during the confirmation but did not pass it along to the Senate committee.

Of course, President Donald Trump is having a meltdown over the bombshell report.

What’s unbelievable is that Trump is once again trying to use the Justice Department as his attack dog to protect an alleged sexual predator from answering for his behavior and perjury. Trump offered zero evidence that the accusations are “false” and if Kavanaugh sues he knows full well that he would have to prove that the accusations are false. That’s why Kavanaugh won’t sue.

Perjury by a judicial nominee is a serious crime that should automatically disqualify said nominee from being a judge, especially a Supreme Court Justice.

UPDATE: Two more candidates have explicitly called for Kavanaugh’s impeachment. The two latest are Elizabeth Warren and Beto O’Rourke.
